HOW TO BOOK

Fiction and Narrative Non-fiction Manuscripts

NEW HERE?

To book an initial review, first report or to apply for mentoring, please send the following to Emma at info@manuscriptfeedback.com:

​

• the first 10,000 words of your manuscript

• a short synopsis* (500 words max)

• a short covering email

​

Your work should be submitted as a single Microsoft Word document attached to your covering email:

​

• in a 12 pt standard font (e.g. Times New Roman)

• page numbered

• extract: double spaced 

• synopsis*: single spaced

• extract first, followed by synopsis (same document)

*If you do not have a full manuscript, you may send a brief summary of your story idea instead of a synopsis. Don't spend ages on your synopsis or worry about it too much! It's just to help us get an idea of how your story pans out.

Your covering email should tell us:

​

• whether your manuscript is complete

• the word count

• genre

• age range (if children's)

• a  little bit about yourself (e.g. how long you've been writing, courses attended, etc)

• the service you would like to book (e.g. initial review, next steps report, detailed report, catch up meeting, mentoring, click here for details of what we offer)

• your preferred one2one location.
  
  

Emma will then be in touch to discuss next steps with you.

We ask you to send us an extract so we can decide who best to place you with and how we can help you most, not to make judgments on your work.
